State-of-the-art laser medicine for skin problems\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Laser beams are bundled and high-energy light beams that are directed specifically to one area of the body during laser treatment<\/strong> and take effect there.<\/p>\n

In laser therapy<\/strong>, different target structures, such as the blood pigment (hemoglobin) or the skin organ, are selectively heated and damaged by the laser light.<\/p>\n

Laser therapies are successfully used for various skin diseases, vascular changes or in the cosmetic field, e.g. for skin rejuvenation, disturbing pigmentation marks and hair removal.<\/u> Different laser devices are used depending on the indication and type of skin changes to be treated.<\/p>\n

Below we report on the laser devices most frequently used in our dermatology practice:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Treatment with Nd:YAG laser for vascular changes and spider veins<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Nd: YAG laser<\/strong> with 1064 nm is ideal for the treatment of superficial vessels and benign pigmented lesions. By using the laser to target the red blood pigment (hemoglobin), the laser can be used specifically for the vascular changes mentioned below without damaging healthy tissue:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Single, dilated veins<\/strong> (telangiectasia)<\/li>\n
  • Rosacea<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Extensive reddening of<\/strong> the skin (often on the cheeks)<\/li>\n
  • Couperose<\/strong> (vascular dilatation of the face)<\/li>\n
  • Hemangiomas<\/strong> (blood sponges)<\/li>\n
  • Vascular spiders<\/strong>, spider nevi (spider-shaped veins)<\/li>\n
  • Spider veins<\/strong> (small veins on the legs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Please note that you should not expose yourself to direct sunlight or solarium for about 3-4 days after the treatment.<\/p>\n

    In addition, hot baths or saunas should be avoided for approx. 2 weeks. You should adhere to these and other rules that will be discussed with you for at least one week after the treatment.<\/p>\n
